In short: Dormer keeps the record of your home on your device. There's no account to create, and no Dormer server receives your data. We do not collect, sell, or share your personal information.
What we collect
Nothing is sent to us. The items, photos, documents, values, and notes you enter stay in the app's local storage on your device — and, if you use iCloud sync, in your own iCloud account. Dormer includes no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs, and does not track you across apps or websites.
Public-database lookups
To check for product recalls, Dormer sends your items' manufacturer names to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission's public recall service (saferproducts.gov). This happens automatically — at most once a day, when you open the Recalls screen — or when you tap "Check for recalls." When you tap "Look up specifications" on an item, its make and model are sent to ENERGY STAR's public data service (data.energystar.gov). These requests include no account, name, or other personal details, and nothing is sent to us. Those government services' own privacy practices apply.
Camera and photos
The camera and photo library are used only when you scan a label or attach a photo, and those images are saved with your records on the device. They are not uploaded to us.
Notifications
Maintenance, warranty, and reorder reminders are scheduled locally on your device. They are not sent through, or visible to, any server of ours.
Links to other services
Some screens link to outside websites — for example, to reorder a supply (via Amazon affiliate links, used only inside the app) or to read a product-recall notice. When you tap one, that site has its own privacy practices, which we do not control.
Support email
If you email our support address, we receive the email address and the information you choose to include, and use it only to respond to your request. If you turn on the optional anonymous app snapshot in the app's Contact support screen, the email also includes record counts and app settings — no names, values, photos, or notes — and you can read exactly what's attached before sending.
iCloud sync
With Dormer+, your records sync to your other devices through the private database in your own iCloud account, under Apple's terms. We can't see or access it. If you're not signed in to iCloud, or Dormer+ ends, your records stay on the device and simply stop syncing.
Children
Dormer is a general-audience productivity app and is not directed to children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the date above and post the revised version here.
